Salmon Tartare with Poached Egg

A fresh, balanced and protein-rich dish that works perfectly for lunch or a light dinner. Simple ingredients, clean flavours and minimal preparation this salmon tartare is about nourishment, not complexity.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 100 g fresh salmon, finely chopped

  • Red onion, very finely chopped (to taste)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • ½ avocado, diced

  • ½ cucumber, diced

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 poached egg

  • Sesame seeds (optional)

  • Fresh herbs (optional)

Method

  1. Finely chop the salmon and red onion.
    Place them in a bowl, add the soy sauce and gently mix.
    Leave to marinate while you prepare the other ingredients.

  2. Dice the avocado and cucumber into small, even cubes.

  3. Place a round food ring on a plate.
    Start layering:

    • first the avocado, gently pressing it down

    • then the cucumber, lightly compacted
      Season each layer with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  4. Add the marinated salmon and onion mixture as the top layer.

  5. Carefully place the poached egg on top, then gently remove the ring.

  6. Finish with sesame seeds and fresh herbs, if desired.

Serve immediately.

Notes

This recipe is flexible — adjust seasoning, textures and portions to suit your taste.
It pairs well with toasted sourdough or can be enjoyed on its own.
